Outstanding Contribution Award
CONGRATULATIONS!
Dennis Folks, landlord of the Prince of Wales in Greasbrough for the last 36 years no less, has been presented with the Branch Outstanding Contribution Award for his dedication to real ale.
Dennis had to fight long and hard with the pub owners first to introduce and then keep a real ale on the bar but he could not be deterred.
Famous for the quality and never-ending variety of beers on offer, good value has always been equally important as demonstrated by the continuing use of oversize glasses.
Dennis, with his late wife Christine, has won many CAMRA awards over the years and we were delighted to announce at the award presentation yet another one - they are the new Pub of the Season!
Dennis,l, with Steve Burns, Chairman.

Rotherham CAMRA Champion Beer of Yorkshire - the results!
Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all involved for making the event a success. Special thanks to World Superbike Champion James Toseland for supporting us and joining the final tasting panel to choose the champion beer.
The judging was done by teams of CAMRA members, local Brewers and Landlords, real ale enthusiasts and members of the Sheffield University Real Ale Society.
A sample of each type of ale was blind tasted and scored on the basis of appearance, aroma, taste and finish.
Points were awarded by the tasters for each characteristic and the results aggregated to arrive at a winning beer in each category. From those, the overall best beers of the Festival were chosen.
